GOLD WORTH RS FOUR CRORE SEIZED IN MANIPUR

A joint team of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and 12 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles, apprehended a gold smuggler along with 97 gold bars weighing around 16.045 kgs worth around Rs 4.8135 crore, at Khudengthabi check post in Manipur. The joint team stopped a vehicle which was travelling from Moreh towards Imphal at Khudengthabi check post. While searching the passengers and vehicle, the joint team found the gold biscuits hidden inside a secret cavity of the vehicle chassis. The individual along with the gold bars were later handed over to DRI, Imphal.
