HEALING TOUCH BY ASSAM RIFLES IN BORDER VILLAGES AND CULMINATION OF BEHENG FOOTBALL TOURNEY

Guwahati, December 18,2018:

Singhat Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a medical camp in the border village of Behiang on Monday under initiative of operation ‘Sadbhavna’.

The benefits of the camp were not only restricted to Indian villages, but also to civilians belonging to villages in Myanmar. Around 350 people from the neighbouring villages of L Kanan, Tongjang, Janglung, S Sekhen, Suangphu and Hangsum were also benefitted by the camp.

According to reports, the Beheng Football Tourney held on Monday was a much-awaited tournament. The final match was between BYC A and AR, in which AR defeated BYC A 4-1. But since AR was a wild card entry, BYC A were declared winner and Saungphu were the runners up in the Beheng Football Tourney.

The people of Beheng and neighbouring villages thanked the efforts of Assam Rifles for not only helping in reviving the Football ground but also in assisting in conduct of the tournament throughout, with this the Assam Rifles has proved itself to be the "Friends of the Hill people".
