Manipur detects new COVID-19 cases, total rises to 132

Manipur has reported 10 new COVID-19 cases on June 5th, 2020, taking the total to 132.

The state now has a total of 132 Covid-19 positive cases and 91 active cases with 41 recovered.

Earlier, a nurse working in the isolation ward in Manipur's Churachandpur district Hospital has tested positive for COVID-19 on June 4th, 2020, officials said. Additional director and Spokesperson of Health Department Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang said the nurse has no travel history.

Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases followed by Tripura and then Manipur.

India COVID-19 cases so far

India has crossed 2 lakh-mark in terms of corona positives on June 3rd. On June 5th, the country currently has 227000+ confirmed COVID-19 cases, 110960 active cases with 109461 cured and discharged. The total number of deaths is 6348.

India registered a record jump of 8,909 novel coronavirus cases in a single day (June 3rd).

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 2 thousand deaths. It has recorded 77793 corona cases with 33681 cured, 2710 deaths, and 41402 active cases. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has corona 25004 cases with 9898 cured, 650 deaths, and 14456 active cases. Tamil Nadu has 27256 positive cases with 14902 cured, 220 deaths 12134 active cases. Gujarat with 18584 COVID-19 cases, so far, has 12667 have been cured, 1155 deaths, and 4762 active cases.

India now has 7th in most cases in the world and has surpassed Germany. So far, the USA has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in 1,924,051 cases.

Global coronavirus cases have surpassed 6,702,699 cases, with Latin America overtaking the United States and Europe in the past week to report the largest portion of new daily cases globally. It represents a new phase in the virus’ spread, which initially peaked in China in February before large-scale outbreaks followed in Europe and the United States.
