Manipur Govt accused of behaving like ‘terrorists’’

Imphal (Manipur), August 13:

Manipur’s veteran politician O Joy has accused the State government of behaving like “terrorists” through its dictatorial attitude and for having failed to resolve the Manipur University crisis.

Speaking to the media here, Joy alleged that the government valued Vice-chancellor (VC) Adya Prasad Pandey more than the people of Manipur by not fulfilling the popular demand of ensuring Pandey’s removal.

He said the government on one hand was not permitting political parties to carry out rallies against the VC, but on the other hand it was allowing others to hold rallies when prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC were in place.

Joy also appealed to all bureaucrats not to follow orders of any Minister blindly.
