MANIPUR: HIGH POWER COMMITTEE LOOKS AFTER THE ISSUE OF BORDER PILLAR 81

6 July 2018:

A High Power Committee made by Government of Manipur for looking after the border issue inspected the burning issue of Border Pillar 81, Kwatha Khunou.

The Committee’s Chairman Karam Shyam , Revenue Minister stated that this inspection is done under the order of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to find out real and accurate borders between India and Myanmar at Border Pillar No. 81.

He further stated that the Committee today inspected this Border Pillar as to know out the real causes and after a meeting which will be held tomorrow will decide the solution and will send this matter to the Union Government to look after it.

Meanwhile the Secretary of  Kwatha Village Authority stated that the location of the present Border Pillar No. 81 is not an accurate place, as it was located 500 metre away on the other side of the Namjetlok  River and he strongly condemned about High Power  Committee's Chairman Karam Shyam's words about the pillar.

During the inspection of Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip ,  Tribal Affairs Minister N. Kaysii, MLA Th. Satyabarta, MLA Robindro, MLA D.Korungthang, Vice-chairman Autonomous District Council Chandel Joy Lamkang  , DC Tengnoupal A. Tombikanta , SP Dr.S. Ibomcha , Col. RS Rawat (Commandant  11AR) and other various officials took part during the inspection.

Untill the Government of Manipur takes a decision, Chairman of High Power Committee Karam Shyam advice Col. RS. Rawat (Commandant 11 Assam Rifle) to look after the border properly.
