Manipur: Khongsai Youth Union condemns assault on chief

The Khongsai Youth Union (KHYU) has condemned the incident of the chief Ingourok, Pu Thenkholal Khongsai being brutally beaten up by cadres of Kuki National Front- Zougam (KNF-Z), a SoO signatory group, at around 5:30 pm on Monday.

In a condemnation statement the union conveyed shock that while Covid-19 pandemic has scared everyone, the chief of Ingourok was viciously and mercilessly beaten up by the cadres of KNF-Z. The victim was dragged out from his residence by the said cadres, blindfolded and grievous hurt was inflicted on the body with weapons and arms. It mentioned that his car a Hyundai Santro, registration number MN01W 7851, was stolen.

The Khongsai Youth Union furnished the information that it had conducted an urgent inquiry and concluded that all the available evidence suggested the innocence of the chief. Thereafter, the KHYU stated that it unequivocally condemned the narrow-mindedness of the cadres in indulging in such brutal
