Manipur registered its first COVID-19 related deaths on July 29th, 2020 morning. The patient had chronic kidney disease.
A total of 56 persons were discharged from RIMS and other COVID care centres across the State.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 positive cases in Manipur on Tuesday is 2,317.The number of active and recovered cases is 702 and 1,615 cases respectively, it added. The recovery rate is 69.70 per cent.

India has recorded 14,83,156 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 33,425 deaths. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases. However, infections are rising rapidly in states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh. Yet, India’s recovery rate continues to rise and now stands at 64.2 percent.
Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross 13 thousand deaths. It has recorded 147896 active corona cases, 221944 cured and 13883 deaths. The western state is followed by Delhi and Tamil Nadu. Delhi has 10994 active corona cases, 116372 cured and 3853 deaths. Tamil Nadu has 54896 active cases, 3571 deaths. Gujarat with 13146 active COVID-19 cases, 41380 cured and 2348 deaths.
