Weightlifter Sanjita Chanu has demanded an investigation into the failed dope test after the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) had admitted to committing a mistake.
In May, Chanu was handed a provisional suspension for violation of an anti-doping rule as she tested positive for Testosterone. In a letter written to the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), the IWF admitted to having mentioned two different urine sample numbers in its communication of her dope flunk earlier this year.
The development made the weightlifter from Manipur to write a letter to the IWF seeking a probe. She wondered as to how such a mistake could have taken place. She had won a gold medal in the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in 53kg category.
