Manipur youth stumbles onto figures of legendary figures in remote village, video goes viral

A youth of Manipur while travelling to a little village called Wakha in Imphal district found a precious piece of evidence about a man who really worked hard to keep the history of the State alive.

If you are a Manipuri who was born post WW1 or WW2 - you might have heard about the below names for sure but you may not have seen all their photographs, images - you must definitely want to know how those legendaries look like.

In the short video, the young man found a piece of note which suggests that this whole work was done In memory of Dr. Ch Jayenta Singh (1948- 2011).

After the video emerged online, people are suggesting that it be converted to a state memorial site or atleast a place where the young generation of Manipur should go once in their life time.

In this short video, one can see statues of the most famous renowned legendary figures of Manipur beginning from sports personalities, to artists, to politicians, to social scientists.

"Father of Manipur sports - Benodur Singh, Moirang Parva Thanga Mangoljao, Nongmaithem Pahari, Son of Manipur - N Maipak, the perceptor - Ch. Kalachand Sastri, RK Ronendrajit, A Minaketan Singh, Dr. Ch Jayenta singh ( Sculpture), Dwijamanidev sharma + Kavi Ratna- L Somendro singh, L Khelchandra Singh ( Educationist), RK Shitaljeet singh( Writer) + GC Tongbra , Writer + Lord of Painter - RK Chandrajit Sana , A Dorendrajit singh (Poet ,Dramatist) Father of Manipuri Prose - Khwairakpam Chaoba Singh , Mahakavi, Hijam Anganghal, Kh Pramodini Devi, Writer, L Thambalngoubi devi (Natya Bushan ), renowned Khongjom perva singer, Nameirakpam Ongbi Ibemni, Tough Lady -Hangmila Sheija ( wife of Yamngmaso Sheija, CM 74, 77 ), Md Alimudin Khan, (First CM of Manipur after statehood ) and Poet - Nabachandra Singh are some of the figures that have been erected by the family of the deceased man," a source told Inside Northeast.

Every Manipuri would love to watch it. This is about uncomplete hard work by a family - who tried to put up the statues of every legendary figure of Manipur - but they couldn't complete the project. Now, these invaluable figures have emerged online thanks to the youth who recorded the video.
