Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) President Irengbam Chaoren has sent out a message for the people of Manipur on the 41st Raising Day of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Doubting as to how long the Manipuri society will survive under the rule of India, Chaoren said that “…The present generation must explore an answer to this question otherwise our society will sink in a sea of foreign elements and nobody will believe Manipur once existed as a distinctive, glorious nation for several centuries.”
He said that the princely state was annexed by India but the current politicians were happy to live under the shadow and blessings of their ‘political bosses’ sitting in Delhi.

He alleged that the local politicians assumed the freedom of India as freedom of Manipur and they have unleashed ‘repressive measures’ against revolutionaries to suppress them. “They have been mobilizing people to work against revolutionaries, sponsoring protest demonstrations against the revolutionary movement apart from enlisting agents/mercenaries who selectively target supporters of the revolutionary movement,” he said.
Chaoren praised the revolutionaries for initiating an armed freedom movement to free Manipur from the clutches of India’s colonial yoke and establish self-rule.
In his message to the people of Manipur on the 41st Raising Day of the PLA, the President further cautioned that a big conflict would certainly unfold between Manipur and India. He said that it was only natural for the people of Manipur to join either of the two parties in conflict.
"It is crucial for the people of Manipur to support the revolutionary movement and prepare collectively for a decisive war for it is this revolutionary movement which will take Manipur on a path of freedom and prosperity,” he added.
Chaoren said that India imposed its colonial rule on Manipur for the first time on October 15 and since then, Manipuris have been observing it as Black Day every year. He termed it as a ‘deceitful annexation’.
He further conveyed the message that the Government of India sent a huge number of military forces to the state, which had serious repercussions on the people of Manipur.
Hinting on the current Naga political issue, the RPF President said “India will never succeed in working out a community based solution to the Naga people’s demand for a greater Nagaland and Kuki people’s aspiration to create an exclusive homeland.”
Chaoren has warned about the disastrous impact that Manipur would face if it depended on policies and programmes formulated by India.
