MC Mary Kom Breaks Quarantine to Attend President's Breakfast

New Delhi, March 21, 2020:

It has now come to light that MC Mary Kom, the world champion boxer from Manipur, has broken the quarantine protocol amid the rising threat of the pandemic coronavirus or COVID-19, which has killed at least 11,000 people.

Kom, who is a Eajya Sabha MP Mary Kom broke the 14-day quarantine protocol which has been put in place by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Mary Kom, who had competed in the Asia-Oceania Olympic qualifiers in Amman, Jordan, had returned home March 13 and was supposed to be in self-isolation for a minimum of 14 days amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, to everyone's surprise, it has been revealed that Kom had actually attended a dinner hosted by President Ram Nath Kovind on March 18.

Pictures of the guests attending the breakfast hosted by the President are still available online as they were tweeted by the President's Twitter handle, along with the caption, "President Kovind hosted Members of Parliament from Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan for breakfast at Rashtrapati Bhavan this morning." Additionally,

Meanwhile, MC Mary Kom herself has admitted that she met the President at the breakfast party. "I am home since I came back from Jordan. I only attended the President’s event and did not meet Dushyant or shake hands with. My quarantine after Jordan ends but I’m going to be at home only for the next 3-4 days", she stated.
