Manipur BJP President, K Bhabananda has filed complaints of poll rigging at 169 polling booths in the Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency vote held during the first phase of polling on 11 April.
The state BJP President also condemned the discrepancies allegedly committed by anti-BJP elements including the NSCN (IM) such as indulging in mass proxies, intimidating voters and booth capturing. However, the Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has strongly rejected the BJP allegation while citing that the ruling BJP is allegedly relying upon various militant groups to ensure the party's victory in the ongoing parliamentary elections in both hills and valleys of Manipur.
It may be mentioned NPF is part of the ruling BJP led state government in Manipur. Also, a recent viral video has surfaced on social media of a particular head of the Kuki National Army (KNA) issuing a strong diktat upon the public to vote for the BJP while assuring violent consequences against those disobeying.
