Guwahati, April 18, 2019:
The polling percentages till 9 am for the six Lok Sabha Constituencies are out. Six Constituencies from the North-Eastern region of India – Nagaon, Silchar, Karimganj, Mangaldoi, Autonomous Council, and Inner Manipur – have already headed out in droves to decide the fate of 61 candidates (50 in Assam; 11 in Manipur).
The Election Commission has reported the polling percentage in the six Constituencies of the North-East till 9 am are as follows:
Nagaon: 9.62%
Mangaldoi: 11.32%
Silchar: 13.29%
Karimganj: 11.82%
Autonomous Council: 12%
(Overall Assam: 11.61%)
Inner Manipur: 14%
It may be mentioned that the election in Tripura East Constituency, which was earlier supposed to head to the polls today, has been deferred till 23 April because of security concerns.
