The operations followed when unidentified persons shot and injured a 48 year old man at the cross road of Kangjabi and Thingel, under Lamphel Police Station on Sunday night. A non local later identified as Jagabundhu Malik (48) of Jajpur district, Odisha (presently staying in a rented house at Kangjabi, Imphal) and his uncle, Digambar, were returning home from the market.

security personnel said that when they reached near Mangal's House, two unknown individuals on a Honda Activa shot Jagabundhu Malik on the left side of his chest and sped away from the site. The injured person was rushed to RIMS and is presently undergoing treatment under serious condition says Digambar.
