The decomposed body of Ngangom Nevy, who was brutally murdered, has been claimed by his family from the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal (JNIMS) morgue.
The body was taken from the morgue of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences today afternoon after an understanding was brought between the government and the Joint Action Committee formed in connection with the brutal killing of Ngangom Nevy.
Addressing the media at the campus of the morgue, the convenor of JAC Chanthoi said that they have placed demands to remove armed miscreants allegedly belonging to the Kuki community from the state, replace 37th Assam Rifles and provide suitable jobs to the family of late Ngangom Nevy.
The convenor of JAC said, "We have placed certain demands in front of the state government and the way the Kuki Nacro terrorists have killed innocent people is beyond humanity and we ask the government to throw them out of the country."

The convenor also questioned Assam Rifles' ignorance in the incident and alleged that the murder took place just a few metres away from the 37 Assam Rifles gate.
As the state government has assured to fulfil the said demand, the JAC claimed the body of Ngangom Nevy. The last rite is to be performed today itself.
She said that armed miscreants allegedly the deceased in such a brutal manner.
The unfortunate incident occurred at a place near the Assam Rifles Camp. Viewing the brutality of armed miscreants and the ignorance or ineffectiveness of Assam Rifles, they demanded to remove armed miscreants and remove the 37th Assam Rifles.
It may be mentioned that Ngangom Nevy has been missing since May 28 and was recently found as a decomposed body at Sokom Village under Chandel district on January 31.
The body has been kept at the mortuary of JNIMS. The decomposed body was found after a beheading video of him emerged on social media.
