Residents of Khurai Lamlong in Imphal East district took to the streets today, staging a torch rally to vehemently condemn the recent drone attack allegedly carried out by Kuki militants. The protest comes in the wake of a drone bombing incident in Koutruk and several other locations in Imphal West, which resulted in the tragic death of a woman and left over ten others injured.
The protesters voiced their profound grief and frustration over the state and central governments' perceived failure to safeguard lives and properties from the continued violence perpetrated by Kuki militants. They criticized the authorities for not only failing to address the ongoing crisis but also for allowing it to escalate despite the conflict dragging on for over a year.
Chanting slogans such as "We condemn the killing of innocent people," "Take action against those involved in drone bombings," and "Remove central forces," the demonstrators expressed their deep-seated resentment towards the government's handling of the situation, calling for immediate and decisive action.
