Residents of Brahmapur Nahabam Leikai in Manipur's Imphal East district staged a sit-in protest condemning a bomb attack on the residence of Mayanglambam Biramani on the evening of June 11. The attack occurred around 8 p.m., prompting local outrage and demands for government action.
Protesters emphasized the dangers of bomb attacks in residential areas, which create widespread panic and insecurity among the community. They called on the state government to apprehend and punish those responsible, urging an end to targeting civilians.
Trustee, the daughter-in-law of the victim's family expressed shock and distress over the incident. She stated that the bomb fell near their courtyard, a completely unexpected event as the family had no known disputes. She urged those responsible to explain their motives for the attack.
According to reliable sources, two hand grenades were thrown at the residence of Mayanglambam Biramani, 66, in Brahmapur Nahabam Bamon Leikai, Imphal East district. One grenade exploded, causing a parked vehicle to catch fire, while the other remained unexploded. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
