Chief Minister N Biren Singh of Manipur has expressed strong determination in the pursuit of justice as a team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials commenced their investigation into the deaths of two youths who had gone missing in July. The CM assured that the culprits responsible for the death of the two students would be apprehended and held accountable.
On September 27, a CBI team, led by the agency's Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar, arrived in Manipur to initiate an extensive investigation into the case. Chief Minister N Biren Singh announced this significant development during a press conference, emphasizing that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had personally assured him of the arrest and punishment of those responsible for the kidnapping and murder of the two youths.
"After landing in Imphal, they have commenced their investigation," stated the chief minister, refraining from disclosing the precise location where the CBI team has begun its work.
Sources familiar with the investigation have indicated that the agency's primary focus will be on identifying the scene of the crime, retrieving the victims' bodies, and successfully apprehending and prosecuting the culprits.
