Conrad Sangma, Biplab Deb mark World Indigenous Day to celebrate regional diversity

The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed on 9 August each year to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world's indigenous population. This event also recognizes the achievements and contributions that indigenous people make to improve world issues such as environmental protection.

To mark the occasion Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma too reflected on the Indigenous day. "This International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, let’s get together to celebrate, promote, and protect the unique culture, tales, and identities of the indigenous tribes residing across the #NorthEast and the country".

Tripura CM Biplab Deb took to twitter to mark the day.

TIPRA Chief Pradyot Manikya too talked abou World Indigenous Day by stating about "collective unity".
