Exclusive| Conrad Sangma holding meeting with NESO delegates at Delhi residence

Guwahati, February 12, 2019:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma is holding a meeting with the delegates of the Northeastern Students’ Union (NESO) at his residence in New Delhi.

Sangma has been camping in the national capital to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016. Meanwhile, the Bill is set to be moved by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in the Rajya Sabha today (at 12 noon, approx).

NESO, as well as Sangma and associates, have been lobbying in Delhi on the Bill in order to garner support against it. The Bill needs a 2/3rd majority in the Lok Sabha to become an Act.
