Meghalaya Chief Minister and National People's Party leader Conrad K Sangma exercised his democratic right by casting his ballot during the single-phase Lok Sabha election in Meghalaya which will elect two MPs from Tura and Shillong today. The Meghalaya Cheif Minister cast his vote at Walbagre polling station at Tura in Meghalaya.

Sangma's party NPP is fielding former MP and his sister Agatha Sangma from the Tura Constituency, in what is being expected to be a hard-fought contest between the NPP and Congress, who have fielded regional political heavyweight, from the region.
The NPP party is contesting the elections in all the NorthEast states. The elections in the NorthEast will be held in three phases on 11, 18, and 23 April.
