MEGHALAYA: CURFEW IMPOSED IN SHILLONG CITY

Curfew was imposed in some parts of Shillong city  following a violent breakdown between the police and mob in the city’s Motphrant, Mawkhar and some adjoning areas.

The Deputy Commisioner Peter. S. Dkhar of East Khasi hills district, said that curfew has been imposed in areas under Lumdiengiri police station including Jaiaw, Mawkhar, Umsohsun, Riatsamthiah, Wahingdoh, Mission, Mawprem, Lamavilla, Qualapatty, Wahthapbru, Sunny Hill and Cantonment Mawlong Hat (excluding localities beyond Umshyrpi bridge) , today from 4 a.m in view of the breakdown of law and order in Shillong city.
