Shillong: The District Magistrate of the East Khasi Hills district in an order issued on October 21 has promulgated night curfew in East Khasi Hills District between 10 PM to 5 PM with effect from 21 October to 31 October or until further orders.
It was earlier announced that night curfew would be clamped across Meghalaya from 9 pm to 5 am each day. Now, however, the timing has been modified.

However, exemptions granted to officials, nonofficials, and essential services as per the curfew order issued on October 18, 2020, will continue, stated the District Magistrate.
The East Khasi Hills District in an order issued on 21st October, 2020 under Section 144 CrPC read together with Regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 Regulations, 2020 has relaxed the timing from 5 Am to 10 PM each day with effect from 21st October, 2020 upto 31st October, 2020 in all of East Khasi Hills District including Shillong Urban Agglomeration, Sohra and Pynursla Civil Sub-Divisions and C&RD Blocks.
As per a Government notification, the prohibitions and relaxations as declared in an order issued on October 18, 2020, shall remain unchanged.
