SHILLONG: On the occasion of the 72nd Republic Day celebrations, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik released a commemorative postal stamp at Raj Bhavan in Shillong.
The postal stamp is dedicated to the historic Raj Bhavan of Shillong.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma tweeted “Alongside the Hon’ble Governor, Sh. Satya Pal Malik, released a commemorative postal stamp which is dedicated to the historic Raj Bhavan of Shillong as part of the Republic Day 2021 celebration at Raj Bhavan, Shillong today.”
The Governor unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of Marching Contingents in the presence of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma during the Republic Day celebrations in Shillong.
In recognition of the selfless, dedicated service rendered collectively by all the frontline health workers of the Government of Meghalaya during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya handed over the award to Dr. Margaret Marbaniang, (Retd) Additional DHS and State Surveillance Officer, IDSP, DHS (MCH & FW).

On the occasion, the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Conrad K Sangma handed over certificates to Pomlum PHC, Mawphlang CHC, Ganesh Das Government Maternal and Child Hospital, Shillong and Nazareth Hospital, Shillong for exemplary performance under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Aroya Yojana (AB-PM-JAY) and Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS).
The other highlights of the day’s celebration includes song and tableau presentation by the Office of the District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary, District Agriculture and Horticulture Office, Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Gramin, Directorate of Health Services (MI) and Office of District Medical and Health Officer, Divisional Soil and Water Conservation (Territorial) Division, Divisional Forest Officer, Social Forestry and Superintendent of Fisheries.
The tableau of the Directorate of Health Services (MI) and Office of District Medical and Health Officer bagged the first prize followed by Mission Director, Swachh Bharat Garmin in the second prize while the third prize was bagged by the Superintendent of Fisheries.
