MEGHALAYA: VIOLENCE CONTINUES IN SHILLONG

Violating the curfew, miscreants continued to clash with police and indulge in destroying buses and cars. The vehicles came from Guwahati has been destroyed by some miscreants. The situation is very tense in the area and the common people are affected by it as petrol bombs were being thrown away by some miscreants in the area. Night curfew has been imposed from 10 pm to 5 am in Shillong from 1st june. An altercation between a Khasi boy and a Punjabi woman, fuelled by rumours on social media, led to protests and violent clashes in Shillong on 1st June leading authorities to impose curfew in the city.
