Shillong: An earthquake measuring 2.9 magnitude on the Richter scale struck Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya on Saturday, the national centre for seismology informed.

As per officials, the tremors were felt 29 km west of Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi, at 1.23 am. The earthquake originated at a depth of 10 kilometres. No injuries or fatalities have been reported so far.
An earthquake of 4.2 magnitudes on the Richter scale hit a district of Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), tremors were felt at 1:25 am, in Changlang.
