Voting Underway in Meghalaya's Shella; 15% Turnout Recorded till 9 am

Guwahati, October 21, 2019:

The election is on in full swing in the state of Meghalaya to decide fates of the candidates of Meghalaya's Shella Assembly Constituency.

Meanwhile, official figures reveal that over 15% of voters in the Constituency have already cast their franchise as of 9 am.

United Democratic Party (UDP) has fielded Balajied Synrem from Shella. The NPP Meghalaya State Unit has supported the UDP candidate, Balajied Kupar Synrem, who is the son of the late Meghalaya Speaker Dr. Donkupar Roy.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded Joshua Warjri, and the Congress party has fielded Batyngshain Laitmon Ryngnga.

It may be mentioned here voting for the four constituencies of Assam is also underway.
