LR Bishnoi, who is retiring as the Director General of Police (DGP) in Meghalaya on May 19, conveyed his gratitude to all who supported him during his tenure. Taking to Twitter on May 18, he expressed his thanks, particularly to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
In a video shared alongside his tweet, Bishnoi spoke with emotion and pride, reflecting on his time in office. "As I speak these farewell words, pride and emotions are coming together within me like a symphony, harmonising gratitude, nostalgia, and hope," he said.
Throughout his tenure, Bishnoi emphasised the challenges faced and the victories achieved in the fight against drug trafficking in Meghalaya. He credited the unwavering commitment of the state's leadership, especially Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, in guiding the police force through these challenges.
"Our fight against narcotic drugs was consistent, and people highly appreciated it," Bishnoi remarked in the video, stressing the importance of continued efforts in this area.
Addressing the resilient and compassionate people of Meghalaya, Bishnoi expressed his gratitude for their unwavering support, which he considered as the cornerstone of their collective efforts to build a safer society.
Bishnoi also extended his thanks to his colleagues, subordinates, and family members, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to the successes achieved during his tenure. "To each one of you, I extend my heartfelt thanks and deepest gratitude and my fervent prayers for a future filled with prosperity, peace, and progress," he stated.
