Assam Rifles recover illegal local liquor in Mizoram

AIZAWL: Assam Rifles on Monday recovered illegal local liquor in Mizoram.

The Serchhip Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles recovered 10 Case beer and 140 packets of illegal local liquor in General Area Zokhawthar in the state.

The operation was carried out by a team of Assam Rifles and Excise& Narcotic Department, Champhai District based on specific information.

Approximate cost of the recovered Liquor beer is Rs 1,18,000/-. The Excise& Narcotic Department, Champhai District seized the contraband items.

Ongoing smuggling of drugs is a major cause of concern for the state of Mizoram, especially along the India-Myanmar Border.
