IMPHAL: Bharatiya Janata Party( BJP) National President JP Nadda on his two-day visit to Manipur stated that strikes, blockades, acts of terror, and corruption were previously the order of the day in Manipur, but that under the BJP's leadership, stability has been restored in the northeastern state.

Nadda claimed that peace had been restored in Manipur, and that accelerated growth had provided the northeastern state with much-needed stability.

He claimed that the BJP would return to power in the next Assembly, which is scheduled for early next year.

Addressing a public gathering at the SAI ground in Utlou Nambol, Nadda said, “Manipur has become a key sports destination as a result of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's policies. Manipur's indigenous sporting events have been included in the Centre's Khelo India scheme.”

Claiming that Congress leaders have gone into isolation, Nadda stated that the northeast region is the gateway to development and that India's growth will be impossible without its development.

The BJP President, who arrived in Manipur on Saturday for a two-day visit, also highlighted the Centre's various flagship schemes and how the people of Manipur benefit from these welfare schemes.

He stated that Manipur was the starting point for India's freedom struggle and that the tricolour was first hoisted here. Now is the time for Manipur to innovate and expand its infrastructure under the Prime Minister's leadership.

"Manipur is experiencing tidal wave of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.' The transformation occurred in several sectors under (Chief Minister) Biren Singh ji," he said.

Nadda also stated that 2.6 lakh toilets have been constructed in Manipur, while 10 lakh women account holders in the state have received financial assistance directly into their accounts under the Jan Dhan Yojana during COVID-19.

Manipur also received 1.56 lakh free LPG gas connections, he said, adding that all of these measures have further empowered women in the state.
