Mizoram Elections: Three Regional Parties Forge Pre-Poll Alliance

Guwahati (Assam), September 9, 2018:

As Mizoram gears up for assembly elections expected by the year-end, three regional political parties viz People’s Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram (Prism), Mizoram Chhantu Pawl (MCP) or Save Mizoram Front and Operation Mizoram, have forged a pre-poll alliance to work under one banner.

This was announced by Operation Mizoram convener Vanlalhuma Kawlni on Saturday.

Talking to reporters at a news conference at the office of PRISM, Kawlni said if it grabbed power, the alliance would work to bring back the entire state under the Sixth Schedule to protect the state as tribal area.

He also said that the alliance would put in efforts to abolish corruption, establish a transparent government, work for the development of the youth and bring sustainable development in Mizoram by exploiting natural resources.
