Mizoram government has decided to give an ex-gratia of Rs four lakh to the next of kin of 48 year old H C Lalfakzuala, who died in a bridge collapse on Tuesday. Lalfakzuala died while walking on the yet-to-be-completed Bailey bridge over Tuirini river, about 50 kms east of Aizawl. He and his nephew Laltleipuia of Sesawng village, were trying to walk across the bridge when it suddenly collapsed. Laltleipuia survived with injuries. The government also decided to pay the medical bills of the injured person.
