The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday filed a charge sheet in a court in Aizawl against two suspected Bangladeshi terrorists, who had crossed the border to the Indian side illegally and procured 'fake' Aadhaar cards.
The two suspected Bangladeshis have been identified as Mahmud Hassan alias Shariful Islam and Mohamad Sa'ad Hussain alias Mohamad Sayad Hussain and the charge sheet against them has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, Foreigners Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the NIA said in a statement.

According to official reports, the two Bangladeshi nationals were detained by villagers in Silsuri when they could not produce valid documents and gave "unsatisfactory replies"
about their "antecedents and presence in the area." They were arrested in Mizoram in July last year after they were caught by villagers in Mamit district suspecting them to be illegal migrants.
"They were later handed over to the BSF personnel of Silsuri border out-post (BOP), who in turn handed over the two accused to the police station in Mizoram's Marpara. The local police registered the case for investigation which was later handed over to the NIA.
According to the NIA's release, the two Bangladeshi nationals have been linked to the proscribed militant group, Ansar-al-Islam.
The agency has also claimed that the two Bangladeshis arrived in India through the State of Tripura.
Many incriminating documents were found in electronic devices that the suspected cadres were carrying.
