KOHIMA: Two employees of the ONGC abducted by the Paresh Baruah faction of the United Liberation Front of Axom (ULFA-I) have been rescued in a late night operation from Mon district in Nagaland.
The rescued includes Alakesh Saikia and Mohini Mohan Gogoi.
A third abducted man -- 33-year-old junior technician Ritul Saikia -- is yet to be traced.
Police sources revealed than an AK-47 has also been recovered during the operation.

Till yesterday, the Assam police had arrested 14 persons suspected of involvement in the United Liberation Front of Axom (ULFA-I) abduction of 3 Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) employees for ransom.
Assam Police issuing a release said that it had received specific information that the kidnapping has been done by the ULFA (I) under command of Ganesh Lahon alias Puma Lahon and his accomplices Aidyaman Asom alias Moniram Borgohain and Pradip Gogoi alias Akon.
The ONGC employees were abducted during the intervening night of April 20 and 21 2021 from the workover rig site (ROM-100 III) in Sivsagar district.
Five suspected militants reached the site and kidnapped the ONGC staff in an ambulance kept in the site. They were driven to No. 5 Bakupukhuri near Charaideo T.E. from where the kidnapped persons along with 2 kidnappers moved towards the Mon district of Nagaland.
