4.4 Magnitute Earthquake Jolts Nagaland's Tuensang

Dimapur: A medium intensity magnitude 4.4 earthquake was reported early morning on Sunday from the Tuensang, Nagaland region.

The quake hit on Sunday 22 November 2020 at 08:59:21 am (IST) at a depth of 23.2 km.

There were no damages or injuries to anyone reported till the filing of this report.

The magnitude, depth or even epicenter of the earthquake may be revised within a few hours as the calculations and data might be re-verified by seismologists.

The earthquake has been felt by everyone residing near point of origin. Although there is a chance of some moderate damage caused by the quake, there has been no official report yet and further details are awaited.

Earlier this month, Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district was hit by an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude on the Richter scale on Sunday morning.

The earthquake occurred at 08.01 am, on Sunday at latitude 27.44 and longitude 96.30. The earthquake originated 47 kilometres South-West of Changlang.

The National Centre of Seismology (NCS) shared the information about the tremor through a tweet stating that an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude occurred in Changlang.

The depth of the light intensity quake was 10 kilometers.

There were no reports of any injuries or property damage due to the earthquake.
