BJP LED GOVERNMENT WILL GIVE A RESULT TO NAGA PEACE TALKS: KIREN RIJIJU

Addressing a press conference in Guwahati today, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju said “many people do not understand the framework agreement of Naga peace talks we have signed in 2016 and even the then Chief Ministers unnecessarily questioned”. Rijiju stated that the Naga peace talks has been going on for a very long time and the Government of India will go by concrete timeline but before that there should be some kind of understanding, some kind of framework in the basis of which the talk will progress. The MoS reiterated that a framework agreement was signed where the issue of sovereignty and some more serious issues which were the part of their agenda were dropped. Rijiju said that the talk is going on smoothly and progressing with absolute clarity and the Government of India is monitoring the progress of the talks. “I have told the people of Nagaland that we will come out with a clear tangible solution, added Rijiju”.

Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Tuensang had made announcement that the present government will give a result of the Naga talk which is going on and it will not have any kind of adverse repercussion to Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.
