Shefüvi Pfithu, an 18-year-old from Phek district in Nagaland, has been crowned as 'Miss Phek 2019' in a recent ceremony. What makes her achievement even more remarkable is the fact that she survived the deadly disease, cancer, at a very young age!
Shefüvi Pfithu was 16-year-old when she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. With her own story to tell, Pfithu now wishes to make a difference in society, one rhinestone at a time. After winning the coveted crown, she told mediapersons that as a child, she had always wanted to wear the crown.

The youngest Miss Phek contestant who is just 18 years, divulged that when she decided to join the Miss Phek pageant contest many people criticised her based on her family background and being a cancer patient.

Pfithu who hails from Matikhrü village and is a student of Pranabananda Women’s College Dimapur studying in Class 12, challenged the young people especially women not to give up but work hard with passion to achieve in life.
Munulu Chizo from Khomi village and MA English ICFAI University Dimapur stood first runner up while Rangulu Keyho from Phek village was placed as second runner-up.
The subtitle winners are: Miss Multimedia - Sutalu Ruth Dukru, Miss Talent - Sutalu Ruth Dukru and Chope-ü Lasushe, Miss Photogenic – Rangulu Keyho, Miss Congeniality - Mengubinuo Domeh and Best Evening Gown - Mesekhro-u Thele.
