CONDUCTION OF SUCCESSFUL OPERATION AGAINST NSCN(IM) NSCN(K) IN NAGALAND

In the series of intense operations against NSCN(IM) and NSCN(K), the Khonsa Battalion under the aegis of DAO division conducted a successful operation in Sanliam village in the night of 24 May 2018.

Based on specific intelligence about presence of cadre trying to terrorize and carryout extortion in Sanliam village, the battalion swiftly launched an operation and apprehended an Over Ground Worker of NSCN (IM) with extortion notes and extortion money. Post spot interrogation he admitted allegiance to NSCN(IM), he further divulged location of another Over Ground Worker of NSCN(K) , resident of Pongkong village. Seizing the opportunity the party launched an operation in Pongkong and apprehended the second Over Ground Worker with extortion notes and extortion money. The duo had been involved in a number of incidents of extortion and terrorizing of locals, the prompt and bold action by the battalion resulted in successful apprehension of the Over Ground Workers, ridding the locals of the menace created by him.

The Security Forces has been carrying out aggressive operations in the South Arunachal Pradesh and this apprehension has struck a blow to the extortion activities being carried out by the underground cadres of the group in the area.
