Dimapur Railway Station Gets a Facelift, Flaunts Airport-like Look

Dimapur, January 23, 2020:

Nagaland has given a facelift to its sole railway station in Dimapur connecting the state to the rest of the country and people are lauding its fresh look.

The Dimapur Railway Station authorities have ensured that it wears an airport-like look with world-class facilities for the passengers.

One can also see the traditional touch right at the entrance of the station. The facilities are modern and eco-friendly. The Nursing room, waiting lounge, apart from the entrance were renovated. The Northeast Frontier Railway authorities have also set up a 100-feet high monumental National Flag at the concourse area of the Dimapur Railway Station to add to its fresh look.

Railway minister Piyush Goyal, while sharing some pictures of the newly-developed railway station on his Twitter handle, said, “With an innovatively designed building adorned with tribal art and a unique nursery in the waiting room, the Dimapur Railway Station of Nagaland has one of the most eco-friendly & modern facilities for passengers.”

The second busiest railway station of the Northeast region has been renovated with an aim to ensure clean and organised public transport services. Northeast Frontier Railway also shared the images on Twitter and posted, “Take a look into the beautiful #Dimapur Railway Station, gateway to #Nagaland.”
