Kohima, May 8. 2019:

The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President K Therie has condemned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on Rajiv Gandhi saying that the former Prime Minister died as a "corrupt No.1".

In a press statement, Therie stated that there is no record that Rajiv Gandhi was convicted by any court for corruption and further added that dragging Rajiv Gandhi's name whose life was shortened abruptly at his prime age was 'most painful.'

"History will not forgive Modi for his lies. For us, Rajiv Gandhi is a National Martyr and we respect his sacrifice. He was a great, brave and solid rock son of the soil. We miss him", he said.

Therie further said that the BJP is an "opportunist party". He further added that Modi’s five-year rule has no achievements to fight the election, therefore, he is attacking 60 years of Congress Rule and even Late Rajiv Gandhi for whom we are enjoying digital India today.

Therie said that India is second to none in the world, not because of BJP and I hope BJP leaders will agree with me.

Therie said that Modi will go in history as the "tallest liar", all his promises were lies. Likewise, all his allegations are also false. I agree with Rahul Gandhi that Modi’s ‘Karma (fate) awaits him on 23rd May.

For once Ram Madhav appears to be near honest for admitting that BJP will not be able to touch majority and needs others. BJP will not only be short of a majority but will be short of 1/3 with its allies.

Therie also said that on 23rd May 2019 when Modi resigns, many amongst BJP will be happier than Congress.
