Nagaland, Guwahati 27, 2019:
The Naga Hohos and the Naga Students’ Federation have decided to boycott the Indo-Naga peace talks which were scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday. Both organizations released statements criticizing the BJP administration and the Government interlocutor for Naga Peace Talks, R N Ravi.
The Naga Students’ Federation said: “Taking into serious account of the insincerity of the Government of India, the Naga Students’ Federation will not attend the consultative meeting being convened by R N Ravi, GOI interlocutor for Naga Peace which is being scheduled on the 26th and 27th February”.
Meanwhile, the Naga Hohos have also expressed dissatisfaction with the Government’s approach towards the issue and have condemned the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government. The body has complained that “the BJP has said recently that Naga solution will be finalized only after the Lok Sabha election which is absolute contradiction to the Prime Minister’s commitment”, referring to Narendra Modi’s earlier promise of solving the issue after assuming power in the Centre. The Naga Hohos too have boycotted the talks.
