NAGALAND: ASSAM RIFLES EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY HELD IN KOHIMA

HQ IGAR (North) conducted an Ex-Servicemen Rally at Kohima on 22 May 2018, with an aim to reach out to the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen residing in four districts of Phek, Wokha, Kiphire and Kohima. It was attended by 121 ex-servicemen,  Veer Nari, and dependents.

 The ex-servicemen were provided information through special Kiosks about Skill Development, Army Recruiting Office, Agriculture Department, telecom, Banking and CSD. A grievance cell was also established to register and provide on the spot remedial measures. A concurrent medical and dental camp was also held to attend to the medical needs of veterans including free medicines.

The event included an open forum where the veterans put forth their grievances and wide ranging request for assistance from job opportunities to provision of attendance for invalid veterans. Their queries were responded to by IGAR (North) and representatives from HQ DGAR, Shillong.

Major General Sanjay Gupta, IG AR (North) felicitated the war wounded, veterans  and widows of ex-servicemen. He assured all veterans that there grievances will be attended to expeditiously to their full satisfaction and they are welcomed by all AR battalions with open arms.
