The crisis started by the Covid19 pandemic has led the country to fight an unprecedented challenge. As such, reports of basic amenities not being met in quarantine centres have been making rounds throughout India. In this regard, the Livingstone Quarantine Centre in Nagaland, has done remarkably well along with other quarantine centres of Nagaland.

The quarantine center currently hosts around 200 people returning mostly from different parts of the Northeast. The centre has been on the news due to well-served meals and timely services provided to the inmates. It has also successfully provided proper accommodation to the people who came to the place by maintaining proper cleanliness.

The quarantine centre received applauds from civil societies when photos of their meal preparation went viral.

Speaking to Inside Northeast, an inmate fromMokochung quarantine centre said, "it's really nice and the experience along with the treatment is good", said Sunep Ozukum, an inmate of the facility. He stated that the Nagaland State BJYM under the leadership of Mr. BENJAMIN YEPTHO, President has come forward to provide breakfast for all the inmates and management for 7 days. Sumi Totimi Hoho and its units have been tasked for the preparation and serving of foods for the inmates. Along with that the state govt has provided coats, pillows, which have maintained a top-level of cleanliness. The other Mokokchung quarantine is managed by the Covid19 task force under district administration.

But, there have also been challenges faced by the centre. "Intially it has been a challenge to discipline them. We also had technical failure and to bring in people to rectify it. But the local communities have helped", said the convenor.

The story proves that with proper community support, good things are still possible to work if one has noble intentions.
