The Dimapur, Nagaland District Task Force on Tuesday decided that the inter-state border areas in the district would continue to remain sealed.

However, students, government employees with ID cards and serious medical cases would be allowed to enter the district.

At a meeting held under the chairmanship of Dimapur deputy commissioner Anop Kinchi in his office, the district task force also resolved to bring to the attention of the Nagaland government to expedite construction of the 100-bed abandoned hospital at Chumukedima here. It said once its construction is completed, it can be used as Dimapur COVID hospital and later can be used as infectious diseases hospital as is done in other cities.

At present, the Dimapur district hospital, Nagaland is being used as COVID hospital in Dimapur district.

Kinchi expressed concern over the normal OPD patients suffering from varied ailments like cancer, heart, surgical cases etc. He stressed the need to draw an action plan to address the problem. Kinchi told the meeting that the proposal for a CT scan machine for Dimapur district hospital has been put up under ONGC’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.
