NAGALAND: YOUTH ORGANIZATION AGAINST A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN DIMAPUR

Complain against rising dust pollution

Medziphema Town Youth Organization (MTYO) has accused Engineering and Construction Company ltd of the on-going dust pollution in the city. The company at present is shouldering the construction of a four lane road between Dimapur and Meghalaya. The organization attached the problem of pollution to this. They accused the company for constructing the road without proper treatment. In a press announcement, Asazo Kuotsu, the president, Pekhoubikho Yalie, Vice President and some of the prominent members of organization said that they had no other option than releasing the adversities of the people.

MTYO stated that inspite of repeated warnings of the Public leaders to water the part of land under construction,  it has fallen into deaf years. Apart from a countable one or two times ,the company has not watered the area. Such a situation has led to dust-polluting, deteriorating health conditions of the people in the area.

MTYO clearly indicated that they would not comprise with the health of the people, and asked the company to reconsider their process of work. They warned them to water the area and make it dust-free at the earliest. The organization insisted the press to conduct some thorough research on the effects of dust pollution on the people to realize the gravity of the situation.
