The office of Zeliangrong Baudi, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland has approached the Central government after the leaders of Zeliangrong civil society in Manipur, Assam and Nagaland received a threat to their lives from the Isak-Muivah faction of National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) for opposing the “arbitrary decision of NSCN-IM to divide the Zeliangrong family”.
That the Zeliangrong Baudi approached the Central government was known after a “staff officer” T Mere of the NSCN-IM’s Ceasefire Monitoring Cell had written a note to the CFMG convenor K Chawang.
“There is apprehension and fear psychosis in their minds. Moreover, as per their letter, any harassment or act of torture on any of their leaders by the NSCN (IM) will lead to serious consequences which may bring unrest among the Naga communities. In view of the above, you are requested to kindly apprise us in this regard for needful action at an early date,” Mere wrote.
