NIA FILES CHARGE-SHEET AGAINST AGAINST FIVE OF NSCN(K)

Guwahati, November 6, 2018:

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charge-sheet against five persons belonging to National Socialist Council of Nagaland (Khaplang), in connection with an abduction case.

Those charge-sheeted are Gaisinglung Meiringmei, Khamjang Rongmei, Dimchuingam Ruangmei, Ganthoulung Rongmei and Tanthaoliu Gonmei.

The case relates to the abduction of an employee of Bharti Infra Projects Limited. The employee was abducted for ransom by cadres of NSCN (K) at the behest of Deputy Secretary (Revenue), NSCN(K),  Gaisinglung Meiringmei.

NSCN (K) demanded Rs 1 crore for the release of the employee. He was released on May 12 this year after payment of Rs 25 lakh.

An amount of Rs 15 lakh was recovered during investigation of the case.
