DIMAPUR: The Ao Region Chapter of the Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) has slammed the “divisive political narrative” of former Nagaland Chief Minister SC Jamir over a recent interview which it claimed is “rhetoric to confuse the Naga people.”
“With his archaic brand of politics he discounted the Naga people’s political aspiration and advocated for exclusive piecemeal solution for the Nagas of Nagaland state to protect the rejected Naga People’s Convention (NPC)’s 16 Points Agreement,” the NSCN-IM stated in a rejoinder.
It further added that Jamir “advocated for exclusive piecemeal solution for the Nagas of Nagaland state to protect the rejected Naga People’s Convention (NPC)’s 16 Points Agreement.”
Jamir’s “archaic brand of politics” has naturally brought himself into “direct collision with the Naga people”, the NSCN-IM release further added.
“Naga people before us went through untold hardships never seen anywhere else in the world. We shall honor their spirits by our commitment to stand for the cause they have died,” it added.
On Jamir's statement about “compromised sovereignty, flag and constitution basing on the contemporary reality”, NSCN rejoins that “on this point Jamir is talking about the stand taken by NNPGs, NGBF and other ‘yes man’ tribal leaders attached with RN Ravi’s enforced concept of contemporary reality”.

According to Jamir, the 16 Points Agreement is the first political agreement made between the Government of India and the Naga people based on contemporary reality and still relevant today.
Jamir also stated that NSCN has been talking and discussing about the intricacies of Indian politics and political systems, but the intricacies have already been discussed by the Constituent Assembly with the representatives of the people and argued that it has been incorporated in the constitution of India under the Article 371 (A), the statement added.
Terming Jamir’s remark on the Constituent Assembly “intriguing”, NSCN questioned what Jamir meant by the Constituent Assembly and who the Naga representatives of the people were.
On the question of Sovereignty, Flag and Constitution, Jamir stated that Mr. Th. Muivah already compromised Sovereignty and clearly stated that Sovereignty was not possible during the 2012 Peace Consultative Meet at AGRI EXPO, Dimapur, which was confirmed by late General Khole Konyak.
“There is no nation without flag and constitution,” affirmed NSCN. Dr. SC Jamir is reminded that the Naga case has been introduced and discussed in the 54th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN); the Naga political issue was also given due recognition by the six Prime Ministers of India. NSCN is certain that the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks will end with new political arrangement to correct the historical mistakes of the past.
It is the view of NSCN that there is no Naga who subscribes to Jamir’s myths and political narratives except those pseudo Naga nationalists who want to sell out our Naga political rights for their temporary comfort and “economic packages”, it added.
