Kohima, March 28, 2019:

Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) President K. Therie on Wednesday has informed that Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit the state on 3 April where he will address a rally at DDSC stadium in Dimapur in Nagaland.

K L Chishi, who had earlier defected to the Congress from the BJP party during the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill ruckus, will be contesting the elections from the Congress party for the lone Lok Sabha seat in Nagaland and filed his nomination on March 22, along with the NDPP candidate Tokhepo Yepthomi. Chishi is a former Chief Minister of the state. NPP’s Hayithung Tungoe, a former youth leader of the BJP and M M Thromwa Konyak are the two other candidates.

Meanwhile, five candidates have filed their nomination for the bye-poll to the Aonglenden Assembly seat, officials have said. Nagaland will vote on April 11 and counting will be held on May 23.
