Rengma Community Celebrates 'Mini-Hornbill' Festival, Ngada

Kohima, November 27, 2019:

Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has extended his warm greetings to the people on the occasion of the annual festival of the Rengma community, Ngada.

Taking it to Twitter, the Nagaland CM said, “Greetings to the Rengma community on the happy occasion of Ngada. May the celebration foster peace, unity, be a reminder of the rich cultural heritage, rekindle good traditions and values of our forefathers.”

Wishing the Rengma community on the event of Ngada, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi hoped that the festival of thanksgiving will foster unity and harmony among all the communities in the northeastern state.

Ravi also hailed the rich culture of the Nagas and called for preservation and promotion. In his message to the younger generation on Ngada, he urged them to take pride in their culture while excelling in all the aspects of their lives.

The Ngada Festival is among the most popular festivals of Nagaland, celebrating a successful harvest. It is a kind of thanksgiving, which is molded by the Rengma culture.
